This game design program is designed to introduce children between the ages of 8 and 12 to the fundamentals of game development using GameMaker, a popular and beginner-friendly game development platform. Over the course, participants will learn how to create their own games, explore game mechanics, design levels, and unleash their creativity.

Example of Activities:

Game Mechanics
Children will explore game mechanics and their importance in game design. They will implement player controls and interactions. Through the introduction to variables, they will add scoring and lives to the game.

Sound and Visual Effects
Children will learn the importance of music and sounds in video games. They will enhance the game experience with audio, importing and using sound effects.

Start Date: Week of November 3rd.
